Mary picks up Simon and Ruthie at school, when Ruthie asks where Lucy is. Mary tells them Lucy went to Camp-All-By-Myself so Lucy can accept and know herself as an individual. Ruthie says she hates Bobby Tripp since he saw her underwear on the swings and won't shut up about it. She says Bobby has a big brother so Simon might have to fight him.At the market, Annie drops some napkins on the floor and can't quit reach over to grab them. After some assistance from a store worker, she notices they are barmitzvah napkins but doesn't care at this point. While shopping, she is confronted by a member of Eric's congregation, Mrs. Beeker. She tells Annie the ladies at the church are throwing her a baby shower at their house tomorrow. Annie protests but she insists.
Back at the house, Eric meets with the rest of the family and goes over their responsibilities if Annie goes into labor and also when they come home. Everybody knows the drill by now and are tired of going over it again and again. Annie goes upstairs and calls Patricia so she will have some company when the ladies come over. Lucy calls from Camp and says nobody ever talks at the camp she's at. Eric tells her to keep at it.
Nigel comes over to spend the night again, and Lucy calls home again and complains to Mary. Lucy just won't shut up. Mary hands the phone to Matt who tries to change down Ruthie but can't seem to hand the phone off to anybody. Bobby arrives and Simon and Nigel head into the backyard for the showdown. They find Bobby's brother, Daryl, waiting for them with their dog. Ruthie lets out a Xena war cry, but Nigel holds him back. Then Bobby says something to make Nigel mad and Simon holds HIM back. Ruthie tells both of them they are looking pretty yellow to them. Ruthie wakes Mary up in the morning by sitting on her stomach. She tells Mary about Bobby and asks her to do a favor.
Mrs. Hinkle arrives a couple of hours early for the baby shower and says how much she hates showers. She goes into the living room and finds Eric, Matt, Morgan and John talking and asks if the shower is co-ed. Eric says no, they were going to go out. Ruthie and her posse head over to Bobby's house and Mary and Bobby's other brother Mark get to talking. Ruthie is not thrilled with what is going on. Later, the doorbell rings again, and the ladies from the church arrive. She introduces Patricia Hamilton and Mrs. Beeker is a little taken back but heads to the kitchen to make the food.
The guys head off to a local restaurant to get something to eat and Matt talks to John about moving out. He says Matt needs to look out for everybody. Eric talks to Morgan about his concerns with the new babies. Everybody sits down to eat when their food comes - but the Hamilton's notice their food is not coming, and the waiter isn't paying attention to them. Suddenly, everybody at the table realizes what is going on.
Back at the house, the girls, Simon and Nigel are in the kitchen watching the ladies of the church going through the cabinets. When Mary asks if she can help them find something, they suddenly slam all the cupboards closed.
We return to the restaurant but nobody is eating their meal. Morgan gets up to talk to the waiter. He brings the waiter back to the table and asks where their meals are. The waiter says if they aren't happy with the service here, they should go someplace else. He tells the waiter to get his meals and the manager. Matt says it is unbelievable, but John says no it isn't. The kids run interference in their rooms upstairs, blocking the nosy ladies everywhere they turn.
Later when the manager arrives, the manager tells them to take their business elsewhere. The manager says he owns the restaurant and reserves the right to refuse service to anyone. Morgan says it's his fight, and John's fight, not Eric or Matt's. Eric and Morgan stand up and say they are still waiting for their food. The manager says he is going to call the police and Eric and Morgan stand their ground.
Sgt. Michaels and his partner arrive at the restaurant. He tells the manager another restaurant had a similar problem and it took them a lawsuit and several hundred thousand dollars to fix it. Morgan says he is going to tell all his parishioners about the wonderful service, and John is going to tell all his friends to come to the restaurant. Sgt. Michaels warns the manager not to let it happen again.
Back at the house, an older lady keeps asking Patricia to get her things. Patricia confronts the woman about thinking she works here. The older woman says it's not that, she just found Patricia's smile charming and considers her a friend. The older woman says she married a black man in 1938. Patricia takes an interest in the woman's story and the two talk. After Bobby's mom comes over and chews Annie and Ruthie out, Annie fakes a contraction and all the women leave.
That night, the Camden clan and the Tripp clan meet face to face in the backyard. The younger kids start fighting and are eventually pulled off by their older brothers. Later as they are leaving, the Tripp's make a comment about Annie's babies, and everybody rushes towards each other fighting again. Meanwhile, at camp, Lucy is finally accepting being alone.
